* 제목 : Epigenetic Regulation of Autophagy
*초록 : Autophagy is a critical catabolic process regulated by nutrient-specific transcriptional and
epigenetic mechanisms to maintain cellular homeostasis. This study identifies two distinct
signaling axes tailored to different starvation stresses. Under glucose starvation (GS), CARM1
methylates the Pontin chromatin-remodeling factor, which then recruits the Tip60 histone
acetyltransferase to FOXO3a-target autophagy genes. This CARM1-Pontin-FOXO3a axis
enhances H4 acetylation at both promoter and distal enhancer regions to activate autophagy.
Conversely, under amino acid starvation (AAS), single-cell RNA sequencing and trajectory
analysis identified C/EBPg as a specific regulator of autophagy. While C/EBPg is essential for
AAS-induced autophagy, it is dispensable under GS, with its specificity coordinated by ATF4.
Together, these findings reveal that cells employ stimulus-specific epigenetic (CARM1-Pontin)
and transcriptional (C/EBPg-ATF4) networks to precisely orchestrate autophagy in response to
diverse nutrient deficiencies.
