RNA sequencing data of individual cells uncover transcriptional status of thousands of genes simultaneously and thus enable high-resolution definition of cell types and states. Application of single cell RNA sequencing in cancer have identified heterogeneous transcriptional programs associated with molecular tumor subtypes or their behavior during tumor progression, metastasis, and treatment resistance. Furthermore, the technique is powerful in dissecting stromal and immune cell components in tumor microenvironment. Now, we are taking a further step to utilize the single cell RNA sequencing data to advance immunotherapeutic development in cancer.
