제목: An integrative informatics approach towards precision medicine in lung cancer

Clinical cancer genomics is at the forefront of precision medicine, which requires integrative approaches inevitably encompassing multi-layered omics data, computational pipelines, and animal models to test treatment options. Unifying these multi-disciplinary components towards clinical application in practice is a huge challenge. In this talk, I will present our prototypical system to realize the precision treatment of lung cancer. The results from multi-dimensional genomic study of 111 lung adenocarcinoma patients in never-smoker Korean females will be described to highlight the importance of multi-layered omics approach and proper analysis methods based on systems bioinformatics discipline. We were able to identify somatic driver aberrations with FDA-approved drugs available for 83% of our patients. We further propose a new patient stratification method based on the mutation and gene expression profiles, which can be used to guide precision treatment of lung cancer. Lastly, I will briefly introduce our efforts to develop computational methods that combinded the mutation and expression profiles to predict the response to immune checkpoint blockades.
